Job Description To provide a wide range of administrative support to concentrate on their core functional and operational objectives within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Departmental Appeals Board’s (DAB) Medicare Operations Division (MOD) on behalf of the Office of the Secretary is the requirement for 1 – General Clerk Vacancy, Equivalent to Grade 5. |

Role/Responsibilities ● Review and prepare acknowledgement orders; ● Enters new appeals and update cases in the Electronic Case Tracking System and E-Filing System; ● Creates and maintain ALJ case files, request for Court Reporters; ● Processes incoming and outgoing mail including “Ready-To-Go” decisions; ● Performs routine administrative filing and preparing weekly administrative reports. Qualifications 1. Equivalent combinations of post high school education and specialized experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position(s) to be filled. 2. Knowledge of paralegal methods, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to analyze issues and apply laws and regulations to facts presented. 4. Typing and formatting correspondence and legal forms; Ability to effectively work in a high energy office. 5. Proficient in operating a personal computer and in using various Word Processing Software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Pro. 6. Demonstrated finance experience in reviewing expenditures, ordering supplies, and preparing training and supply requisitions. 7. Ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) as require. |
Appointment Type
Full-Time – Temporary Appointment Not-Exceeding 2-Years from Date of Award.
Tour – Arrive between 7AM and 9:30AM, depart between 3:30PM and 6PM.
Workdays – Monday through Friday only. The contractor shall not perform work during Federal Government holidays or Federal Government Furloughs.
Period of Performance – Date of Base Period (6 Months), with Option Period 1 (6 Months), and Option Period 2 (6 Months).
Security Requirements – Background investigation will be conducted.
Badge Requirements – HSPD-12 PIV badge will be issued upon favorable adjudication of background investigation.
Relocation – Will not be paid.
